Ran Asakawa is probably my favorite JAV idol. While she may not be as pretty as Nao Oikawa and her body may not be as great as Sora Aoi’s, Ran is very distinctive (and energetic).
According to Wikipedia, Ran didn’t want to be stripper because the hours were too long, so she turned to adult movies. She wasn’t popular at first because she looked too mature. However, her career took off, and in 2002 her agent submitted an application to the Guinness Book of World Records for Ran appearing in 212 adult videos that year. The next year, she appeared in 304!! She subsequently retired (go figure), although she did later appear in some Taiwanese adult videos.
